Opinions Turned Against Each Other
Such is the origin of the word controversy. Debates among educators are as old as education itself. However, as the very definition of globalization changes, and technological systems alter our livelihood, we now find ourselves in an era in which controversy rages as never before. What are the most urgent and compelling controversies we face today? What can be done to address them?
Join us Saturday June 6, 2026 for a day of diverse discussion of this and other questions related to education with a global perspective in Japan and internationally.
Presentations will be on topics relevant to global higher education, including global competency, foreign language education, classroom diversity, cross-cultural communication, educational technology, foreign students, study abroad, CLIL, area studies, environmental education, or related issues.
